Outfit of the week: family party

F*ck the rain, I'm wearing my white jeans anyway. Going french Vogue-team style: roll up the pants, pair with pointy pumps, black blazer and black T. Adding a bright yellow belt, which only shows when I'm moving my arms, for a slight touch of neon. To me, this is elegant with an edge.

Must read.

I was thinking: summerholiday or festival; three kids, so I'm gonna need a big bag to carry around everything for the whole bunch. And I know a backpack is supposed to be cool now, but, not for a mum my age :-). I'd go for one of these shopper's:

Catch of the week.

Normally I'm not a fan of white shoes, but these are fabulous:

Laagjes.

De kids zijn echt helemaal zot van dit gerecht: onze versie van Shepard's Pie. Je kan het perfect op voorhand klaarzetten.

Wat hebben we nodig voor 4 personen?

• het wit van 4 à 5 preistengels, in stukken gesneden,
• ongeveer 1,5 kg aardappelen om puree van de maken,
• 400g gehakt (beste van smaak tot hier toe: gekruid kippengehakt van Delhaize), 
• boter, bloem, peper & zout, nootmuskaat, melk en afgietsel van gekookte prei, voor de saus

Hoe?

• bak het kippengehakt in een tefalpan (geen vetstof nodig zo) en als het goed doorbakken is, bedek je er de bodem van een grote overschaal mee
• kook de stukken prei, giet af en laat even uitlekken terwijl je de saus maakt (hou het afgietsel bij voor de saus)
• maak een blonde roux van de boter, peper, zout, nootmuskaat en bloem, voeg hierbij het kookvocht van de prei; leng aan met melk tot gewenste dikte
• doe de uitgelekte prei in de saus
• maak vervolgens een tweede laag in de ovenschotel met de prei + saus
• kook de aardappelen en maak er puree van
• breng de puree als laatste laag aan in de overschotel
• je kan er eventueel nog een laagje geraspte kaas opdoen
• zet nog een 20 minuten (langer als je het gerecht veel op voorhand maakte) in een voorverwarmde oven (180°C)

Outfit of the week: sunday @ the movies

The grey, slouchy sweater: casual look with skinny jeans and sneakers, and warm enough for these, not so normal for this time of year, temperatures. Completed the look with green/black vintage baseballjacket.

Later in the evening, when going out for drinks: replace Converse with pumps, baseball jacket with blazer...

My daily armcandy: 'holy' bracelet (gift from Juliette, won it @ fair), antique watch (Omega, hubbie's actually, but he never gets a chance to wear it anymore),  rubber stuffed bracelet (gift from Louis, made it himself!),  turqoise/gold bracelet (ChanLuu), studded bracelet (Stylesnob). 

The gifted one's are my favourites, off course! There's nothing like wearing something  your children gave you, makes them so feel good!

Outfit of the week: Good girl/bad girl.

This is an outfit that I really like: mix some good girl stuff (breton striped T and blue cardi) with some bad girl things (black leather skirt and black biker boots).
